Pine River ResolutionThe Pine River Task Force expects to achieve several results from its work that will resolve the environmental problems of the watershed. The Task Force wants all contaminated sites made harmless through treatment, stabilization, or removal of all toxins threatening human health and the environment. The Task Force supports innovative treatment technologies that will be consistent with this resolution. The Task Force wants all contaminated lands and waters returned to long-term use by our descendants. As families and parents, we expect our children to clean up their messes. In the same way we expect the messes in the watershed to be cleaned by those responsible or, at a minimum, paid for by those responsible. Most importantly, the Task Force wants all of us to learn from the mistakes of the past. We want to maintain this website and share other information about our experiences so that others may benefit from what we have faced. We are certain that with responsible good will, we as a civil society can return our watershed to a condition compatible with its creation and then can learn to live with our resources in ways that sustains a viable community. All are welcomed to work with the Task Force and help us achieve restoration of our watershed and future sustainability.
